Departure from Seattle

It's been an interesting start to the day. First thing this morning the neighbor's moving truck came and blocked my driveway. No problem, they were able to move the truck and we pulled out in front of the house. As the moving guy was walking back to the neighbor's he stepped in a pothole and must have sprained his ankle. He was in terrible pain but didn't want any help. Then as we were driving to the airport, I was just about to say that I hoped we had a smooth trip to Dublin when a bird flew into the side window! A crow. I hope that isn't some kind of bad omen. It looked like the poor bird was just stunned, but not dead.

We all like to think we are relatively intelligent people, but it took about 10 minutes for us to figure out how to run our passports through the kiosk reader. Finally, Cassie actually watched the demo and figured it out. The video didn't quite match the directions when it said to scan the barcode here and had a label on the counter. Very confusing. It is apparent that we'll need all hands on deck to make our way through the trip!

On the positive side, we've checked in, gotten through security, and now I'm trying out posting this blog and adding a picture before we have to be down to the gate. We'll see how it goes!
