Curious in Cavan

Following a short afternoon nap, our grumbly tummies took us to Cavan for dinner. What a cute little town. And might I say, a beautiful drive over...

After thanking the parking faeries for a perfect spot, we hit the town for a bite to eat. On our stroll we were surrounded by true Irish music from block to block--accordion players in the city square and a band of children just down the block.

We found the perfect little cafe, Chapter 1, which even had gluten-free breads and bagels for Debbie! With full and happy bellies, we wandered the streets and stumbled upon a street performance with an 82-year-old fiddle player, Irish dancer and an accordion player--sure warmed by heart (I used to Irish dance). Quite the performance!

Walked around a bit more and unfortunately the only places open were the bars and we've had our fair share of beers for the day, but we know where we're hitting tomorrow. I was able to take some awesome pictures of the precious scenery on the way home, the sun setting...

Simply breathtaking :) Tomorrow we have a busy day ahead of us: a walk on Castle Lake Walk, walking and shopping in Cavan and then headed to Westport.

  1. Where's the picture of you dancing along side-by-side with the street dancer? C'mon!
