Yes, there is a G.I. Joe in her hand
Then the day began with a ride on a tour bus to the Guinness Storehouse. Here we took a self-guided tour of how everything comes together to make the famous beer: the ingredients (water, barley, hops and yeast), roasting, mashing, boiling, barreling, marketing and of course, Arthur Guinness! At the top was the Gravity Bar where we enjoyed a complimentary beer while observing all of Dublin from its 360 degree view.
Quite the artistic skills our pourer had!
Then it was time to hop back on the bus for more sightseeing.
Christ Church Cathedral St. Patrick's Cathedral
Last stop was O'Connell Street where we encountered a bit of flash rain and wind, so time to put on jackets and bust out umbrellas! But that's alright; nothing we're not used to from Seattle :)
Soon enough, blue skies! Next on the agenda was to visit Trinity College and The Book of Kells. Here was the third wedding we've seen since we arrived yesterday!
Unfortunately, no cameras were allowed in the Book of Kells tour, but here are photos of the entrance to Trinity College and in the courtyard. The Book of Kells is an illuminated manuscript in Latin with Gospels from the New Testament. It was created by Celtic monks around 800 and is mostly drawn from the Vulgate and several passages from the early Bible.
Now we're back at the hotel to rest up before more trotting aroung town and beers and food at a local pub. Until next time!
